This module is an introduction to urban geograhies. It examines the following issues: Conceptualising and theorising urban space/place. Spatial relations and structures. Issues of economy, power and socio-spatial inequalities. Urban policy attempts at combating uneven development, inequality and regeneration strategies. Social justice in the form of social exclusion, the underclass and polarisation. The different dynamics of cities of the Global North and South. I contribute to this module by speaking about urban inequality, urban (institutional and everyday) politics, and urban futures.
