Elevations, icons and lines: The city abstracted through is skylines
This series of lectures and reading seminars focuses on an exploration of discourses, speech acts, and power relations. In a second step, we critically explore history and the notion of 'universal history', representations of history (historiographies), and power relations. We draw on the work of Foucault and Benjamin to develop a political rather than historical reading of the past as a means of intervening in contemporary environments for alternative futures.
